When submitting an application for licensure to the state of Arkansas, there are a number of items they need to receive before an oral interview takes place. The official transcript must include the completion of a Master's degree in the MFT field.

MFT Licensure Requirements

3,000 clinical hours are needed after post-graduation, and this requirement is divided up into multiple phases. There are two exams that must be taken, a national exam that is distributed by the Association of Marital and Family Therapists Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) and the state jurisprudence exam, and these scores must also be submitted. There is also a background check that must be completed with the results sent to the state board.
