Master’s in Counseling in Oregon: Program Overview
There are many CACREP-accredited universities in Oregon that offer master’s degrees in counseling. Portland State University has a graduate counseling program with concentrations in Clinical Mental Health, Clinical Rehabilitation, Marriage and Family Counseling, and School Counseling.
Western Seminary offers a master’s with a specialty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and Lewis and Clark College offers Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS) in Professional Mental Health. Western Oregon University, located in Monmouth, has a concentration in Rehabilitation Counseling, and Southern Oregon University of Ashland has a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Oregon State University Graduate Online Counseling Degrees
While traditional campus programs are a great way to earn a master’s in counseling, the state of Oregon also offers online options, such as at Oregon State University.
Oregon State University’s online Master of Counseling (MCoun) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and in School Counseling are hybrid degree programs suitable for students in need of great flexibility with their education. Both programs include a majority of online classes that are supplemented with weekend experiences on campus on two Fridays and Saturdays each quarter. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is 90 credit hours, while the School Counseling program is 75 credit hours.
