Massachusetts licenses counselors through the Massachusetts Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions. The state issues a single license: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

The Path to Licensure in Massachusetts

Step 1: Complete a Qualifying Graduate Degree
