The Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy will prepare students to embrace diversity when working with various patients and discovering theory and evidence-based methods within clinical practice.

Much of the training within this program is done at the Center for Individual, Couple, and Family Counseling on the UNLV campus.

The university only accepts full-time students into the program, and there are 60 credit hours needed to complete the curriculum. Over 96 percent of graduates have found job placement and over 95 percent have passed the national exam since 2010.

LMFT Licensure in Nevada

Requirements for licensure in the state of Nevada include obtaining a graduate degree that has been accredited by the COAMFTE (or equivalent) and has completed at least 3,000 hours of clinical experience in an internship. At least half of those hours must be done in direct contact with a client, and 1,200 hours of that work is specifically in MFT.

MFT Licensure Requirements

At least 300 hours must be approved by an official supervisor. Applicants must also submit proof of their national examination, which is distributed by the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulation Boards (AMFTRB).
